CINQAIR

Reduce sudden asthma attacks by adding CINQAIR to your treatment plan

If you suffer from severe asthma, you have elevated eosinophil levels, and your asthma is not well-controlled with your current medications, CINQAIR could help. When used as an add-on treatment by adults 18 and over, CINQAIR can improve breathing and help prevent severe asthma attacks.

How CINQAIR Works

CINQAIR works by inhibiting interleukin 5, which is a key mediator in eosinophil activation. Eosinophils are specialized white blood cells that can cause lung and airway inflammation—and contribute to asthma attacks—when present at elevated levels. By helping to control eosinophils, CINQAIR can improve breathing and help prevent severe asthma attacks. CINQAIR is not used to treat other problems caused by eosinophils.

Treatment with CINQAIR

CINQAIR is a monthly treatment requiring an intravenous infusion. Your asthma doctor will place a needle in a vein and it will take 20 to 50 minutes to get the full dose of CINQAIR. Because CINQAIR is an add-on treatment, it is not meant to replace your current asthma medications or to treat sudden breathing problems. You should keep taking your asthma medications and using your emergency inhaler while using CINQAIR unless instructed otherwise by your doctor.

Is CINQAIR Safe?

CINQAIR is FDA-approved for treatment of severe eosinophilic asthma in adults age 18 and over. The most common side effect of CINQAIR is throat pain, but other more severe side effects are possible. Some side effects of CINQAIR may be more serious than those of other biologics, so the decision to take CINQAIR will be weighed carefully by you and your doctor together.
